About

High Country Taxidermy is owned and operated by me, Mark Brocker.  I have been a hunter for 28 years. I started hound hunting with my uncle, Ray Jennings, when I was 14 years old. I hunted with Bobby Bingham's crew for more than 15 years, stalking deer by myself as well as with my gun dogs.

My long history of hunting rabbits, foxes, goats, wild pigs and all species of deer in Australia and New Zealand means I have extensive knowledge of all aspects of animal habitat, behaviour, anatomy and biology. I now use these skills to taxidermy trophy game heads with precision.

Under the expert guidance of longtime, well-known Victorian high country taxidermist and hunting guide, Bill Barry, I have honed my abilities to create taxidermied game mounts of the highest quality.

Having had many game trophies mounted over the years I am sensitive to the need to make the most of a animal. I aim to achieve a finished mount that exceeds the customer's expectations. I only use the highest quality materials and employ traditional and modern techniques to achieve the best result. I would only create and sell you a game mount that I would feel happy to put on my wall at home.

2017 Taxidermy Championships - First Prize
Taxidermy Championships

In March 2017, I won First Prize and Second Prize at the 3rd Annual Australian Association of Wildlife Artists Taxidermy Championships in my division for my game head entries.

Photos of my winning mounts were featured in The Age, The New Daily and on The ABC.

High Country Taxidermy is temporarily closed due to workshop renovations. See you in the Spring. Happy Hunting!
