High Country Taxidermy provides a range of services including mounting of game heads, specialising in sambar deer. I offer a tanning service for skins and hides for rugs and wall hangings. I also prepare antlers and horns for display in a variety of ways.
GAME HEADS
Attention to detail is important so extra time is taken on areas like the eyes, nose, mouth and ears. The antlers are carefully secured to the head using the highest quality internal fixings.

TANNED HIDES AND SKINS
Tanned skins and hides are an excellent way of displaying your trophy.
Whether it be hung on a wall or a flat skin used as a mat on the floor, I can tan the skin of deer, cows, and fox, among other species.
I can also make tanned hides into cushion covers - a unique way of displaying your trophy.

ANTLERS AND HORNS
If you don't need a full shoulder mount, there are many ways to display and use your trophy's antlers and horns.
Antlers can be:

Mounted on a wooden plaque or shield. The shield is handmade from from your choice of timber, in any shape you like. I can also arrange for a brass plate to be attached with details of the trophy,

Mounted to be hung directly on the wall using a metal fixing and hook.
Horns of most horned species can be mounted attached to the skull or separately. See examples in the gallery.
I also sell antlers, when available, for use in arts and crafts such as for knife handle making and light fixtures.
